Poor for individual support. Some interesting articles to read but not worth the money at all. Might as well just buy a diet book. Coach will only address whole group and there is no private contact as whatever you ask is answered to the whole group with your name. Lots of food science but little about how to change your attitudes towards food or deal with emotions around food. Nothing that hasn’t already been covered by the diet industry.
Great well researched programme. I am currently more than half way through the programme and think it is a very stable, healthy and sustainable way to loose weight, improve fitness and think about developing healthy habits. I would have given it 5 stars but a couple of things have let it down. I think that the app needs further development and I've experienced a couple of glitches. I also think that the health coach is great to have but SN need to invest in more research into how to engage users in meaningful discussion and then provide development for staff. Now we are over halfway through the discussion topics seem to just be following the same format as earlier topics, so don't feel overly meaningful. I do think the health coach is helpful to have but just needs a bit more development, perhaps more understanding about facilitation of online discussions.

Straightforward information, great professional nutrition support and fabulous group chat.
I just finished my third week of my 12-weel programme at Second Nature. During this time, I have learned loads of stuff from, nutrition, habits, health science, positive psychology, kitchen organisation, recipes. The readings are always interesting, complemented with scientific evidence plus useful or inspiring videos to watch. I already feel with much more energy than when I started SN. My partner and daughter have also benefitted from the things I have been learning, specially the delicious SN recipes we have been testing. I am looking forward to the next 9 weeks and to putting in place all SN recommendations that have resonated with me.
I am on week 3 of eating the Second Nature way and I am genuinely loving it.Ive always found diets boring and a struggle. The recipes are delicious and I enjoy cooking them.I can really feel a benefit to my energy levels and mental health has improved.I enjoy the app and find the group and coach supportive and the information provided along with the daily articles are informative and interesting.
It's important for you to enjoy cooking in my opinion to embrace this diet to its full potential.
I wasn't sure about this plan as you make your meals from scratch, however I have really enjoyed making the meals and they are filling plus I have lost weight ????
Very quick and good quality material in minimal packaging- good for the environment!
I’m currently on the Second Nature program and finding it really refreshing to be part of a weight loss group that takes a holistic approach to your weight loss journey. The recipes and changes in your relationship with food are realistic and live-able in the long run I feel. The tools and support group they provide you with to help you along the way are well worth the money and it feels up to date for the 21st century, not having to go visit an actual place in person just for a weigh in like other groups. I also appreciate the way everything is shown to be backed by real science which gives me more confidence in what I’m doing.
Second Nature is a breath of fresh air. Having followed many ‘diets’ over the years I love that this is about health and lifestyle and how to change that for the better. The twelve week programme is proving to be very beneficial and I really enjoy the daily lessons. Bravo SN and keep up the good work of supporting those of us that need the guidance.
There is a lack of long term scientific reviewed articles on this programme, a small study did show an average 6kg loss over 2 years - of those who kept on reporting (those who did not keep to the plan are less likely to report, I suspect). This is an interesting approach, and I am more confident the lifestyle changes will stick than with programmes like Slimming World where like so many others I lost weight then put it on again. I really enjoy the recipes, and the focus on exercise as much as food. The daily "learn" articles are really interesting and help support you in making lifestyle change decisions. I have lost weight, but you can do that on any programme, the thing is keeping it off, and the jury is still out on that one. As far as I can see most trust pilot reviews for this programme refer to short term weight loss - come back in 2+ years and see if it's still off. When you join you are allocated a group and you can chat to each other which is a good support. About 50% of my group did not complete their 12 week programme. This is an expensive programme and for that the technology is clunky and you regularly need to contact support to get various fixes - for example being unable to access the daily "learn" articles, being unable to record weight or not getting our weekly progress update emails. I was not the only one in my group who had regular problems with the tech - indeed it was a regular topic in our chat, so I guess it was a bonding experience. My mentor was relentlessly positive - I imagine some will respond well to this, but it felt rather "Californian" and inauthentic to me. Be prepared for emails from customer services with lots of exclamation marks when you give feedback that some aspect of the tech is not working for you today. You have a nice day now y'all !!!
I have found the daily articles very informative and so far I have enjoyed all the recipes that I have tried ( I am currently on week 4). I find the meal planner and the food diary very useful. It would be great if you could also track you step account and if my Fitbit synced with SN.
